Todays post was going to be a little pattern for a commission I’ve just received, that was until I ran out of yarn barely halfway through…. Talk about bad planning. In all honesty I had almost a whole skein of cream yarn; I really expected it to go a bit further…. So today’s post is really just a quick update on the crochet projects I have in the works at the moment. The project on the banner is not one of my future projects but is something I’ve been making a lot for my facebook page recently, cute little lace collars for toddlers are quite in at the moment and I’ve enjoyed trying out different colour combinations.
5 Crochet Projects:
Unicorn Toilet Paper Cover
In all honesty I never thought I’d make a toilet paper cover! I remember I used to see the little toilet paper dolls when I visited my nanna and I never understood them (although as a child I did enjoy playing with them). This version however is a bit more modern, updated for current unicorn loving tastes and will look absolutely adorable! A project like this will be customisable too, with the basic cover made you could make it into any animal you like to adorn your bathroom with!
Baby Bear Beanie
I have a pattern for this project here; lovely quick little project that makes a great gift for mummies to be! This particular hat is gender neutral; I’ll be making it in the same colours as the tutorial so it’ll be a cute cream hat with sage green ears. This is the quickest of the crochet projects so I’ll get this done first.
I won’t be able to start this project for a few weeks; I need to find a good shade of green yarn to make up the scarf. My thought is I might crochet the creeper face as a motif and sew it on afterwards. This is mostly just as a time saver as I already have the black yarn and I’ll be able to start that part of the project earlier. The scarf will be for a toddler so I’ll have to research how long and wide to make it so the poor child doesn’t drown in crochet.
A long time ago I experimented and made bunny blankets: one for fun, one for a close friend of mine. I love these comforters but I seem to have forgotten how to make them. I think it’s about time I wrote down a pattern. This will probably take me some time because it’s been a while since I did any amigurumi so it may be a bit of a challenge…
Super Secret Project!
I know this sounds like a cop out but there is a super secret project that I will be making! There will be a blog post on it once it’s complete but that won’t be for some months yet; I will however be giving updates and previews of this project to my crochet email list with opportunities for you guys to feedback and help me out to make this project perfect! So, apologies for the short post today, I shall be back on top form next week! In the meantime you can browse my Pinterest for some crochet and craft ideas of your own!
