Happy New Year

Hello guys! Welcome back, I know it’s been some time since I put up a blog post but it was December so took a bit of an impromptu holiday to celebrate the misters birthday and Christmas! The time off between has been a wonderful breather, allowing me to take stock and think about what I want out of 2018.

This year is a very busy year for us, not least because we are getting married in March and the whole thing is DIY! I have so many projects I’m going to be doing for the wedding and you guys will see them all! But looking ahead I can see that until the wedding is over it is going to be difficult¬†to keep on top of regular blog posts. With the prep we’ve had so far I’ve already cut posts down to once a week and even that seems like it may be too much. I guess what I’m telling you guys is that up until we are married I’ll be publishing blog posts on an as and when basis. But don’t worry. after the wedding, I will be back in full force!!!

Now that that is out of the way we can talk about what we really want for the next year! It’s been just over a year since my very first post on this blog, The Perils of Being a Lefty! And I can’t believe how far the blog has come; not only do I feel like the quality of my writing and photos has improved so much, but we have a whole new look blog and a growing following on social media. And I couldn’t do any of it without the support of you all!

This year I want to delve deeper into fabric crafts thanks to my wonderful new sewing machine someone special bought me for Christmas! I am an utter beginner -it took me about an hour just to thread the needle- but I’m looking forward to the challenge. I have a little project book to go with it and I can’t wait to try my first big project… after I get the hang of sewing in a straight line of course…

Along with wedding crafts and my plans for DIY gifts, we are going to have a very productive year!  What are your goals for 2018? Want to learn a new craft? Master one you already know? Let me know in the comments and if you have no idea, here are some links to my favourite posts from the last year to give you some ideas!
